parking brake 900

Hi all, I have a 95 960 sedan with a dead parking brake. The steel rod linkage to the rear junction is free & clear and coated with graphite grease. The handle is fine also. I think the problem is the sheathed cables that lead to the parking brake. Is it possible to lubricate and free up the cables inside the sheaths? Let me know. I'd be grateful for your input. - 960 brickster
