91' 940 GLE acceleration problem 900

Help me guys!!!!! A problem I seem to have every 6 months is an acceleration problem .When I accelerate through a light or up a hill I have a decrease in power then it slowly picks up to normal. I have already changed the fuel filter and added various products (to fuel tank) should water appear in the fuel...... This only works for a while. However, something new has appeared during this.....I heard a pop like noise (only once) from the back....I'm not sure if this is related.
