OEM stereo? 200 1988

I've got a cassette/radio that doesn't have a brand name on it. It looks like it was probably the original stereo. The bass and treble controls actually have bass and treble clef signs on them, so I figure it must be Swedish since most Americans don't read music! Is this the original stereo?...anyway the thing is totally dead. No power. The fuse is fine. Other than obvious things like severed power wires, what else should I look for when I pop the dash out? Is there an inline fuse on the stock radio? Do the stock radios commonly fail like this?
