I have always been curious about owning a b234. A friend of a friend has a meticulously maintained '90 740 wagon with the 16 valve mill for sale. It looks showroom new, one owner, dealer serviced with all the records, and 150k miles. No question, its all there. I know common knowledge says to avoid the b234. But, with proper care, as this one has had, and as I will follow, can a b234 be expected to last about as long as any other engine. I know all about the interference thing, but such engines are pretty common these days, including the engines used in modern Volvos (I think). Is the b234 any more prone to disaster than these?? Also, what are other considerations about the b234, or the '90 740's in general. Did the cars with the b234 come with the Nivomats? Thanks for your opinions. Allen
