740 turbo, loss of power 700 1987

My car was working fine until just yesterday. Now, it idles around 700-800 rpms (not sure what it was at before trouble began) and stalls when put into gear (automatic). When I finally get it in Drive and take off, as soon as I hit around 2300 rpm I lose power, ie no more acceleration. This is a new car for me (Had an 84 240 that never gave me trouble). I was thinking maybe a loose hose in regards to turbo, but not sure where to look. Any help is appreciated, Thanks - Aaorn
