960 No Start !!! (part II) 900

After sitting all night, the car started on the first try. I drove it one mile home and it died as I was turning into the driveway! It then no-started again.
The No-Start Condition is:
Fuel pump runs when key is turned on.
Engine turns over and fires ONCE,then continues as if all it needs is more gas.

I was going to go out and buy some ether starting spray, but I bought a new fuel filter instead. I replaced it in my driveway last evening and the car started right away. I haven't road tested it yet because, I have another (1993) 960, and
I'm wondering whether some more sinister problem lurking under the hood,
e.g. fuel pressure sensor or regulator.
Any ideas?
