93 940T driving me crazy with $150 cab fares! 900 1993

Help!

This wonderful brick is driving me crazy! Can someone help? Here's the story:

Day 1:

Car drives normally. I drive it for 30 miles. I park it for 2 hours. Then I go outside to start the car and notice that when I start it, it starts fine but all the warning lights are on. I drive the car 5 miles home and decide to worry about all the warning lights later.

Day 2:

I wake up and open the hood of the car and find out that the alternator belt is shredded. No wonder the warning lights are all on; and the car just ran on battery for the last 5 miles. No idea why the belt is shredded; its not that old. I decide to drive to the autoparts store to get a new alternator belt. Car is VERY VERY hard to start. Car cranks over just fine (1 month old Gel Cell battery) but refuses to fire. After many many tries it FINALLY starts.

I drive 30 feet, run over a speed bump, and the car dies. Try to restart and restart again, finally get it restarted. I drive to the autoparts store. 100 feet from the store the car dies again. Try and try and try and try and the car cranks and crank but refuses to fire. FINALLY I get the car started and get to the store. I buy the alternator belt, install it, and all seems fine. Car drives normally again, no starting problems.

Day 3:

I get up and drive 50 miles to work. Work all day. When I decide to go home, the jump in the car and crank for like 10 seconds straight and it won't start. Then I try again and it starts fight up .... it runs for like 5 seconds and I decide to shut it off to see what happens. Bad move. Now it really won't start. I try for the next 2 hours and it won't start. Cranks over just fine but the car won't start. Every time I turn the key from off to on I hear the "whirrr" for about 2 seconds which I think indicates that the fuel pump is working.

Indeed, the car smells a little rich, but it just won't start. And its 11:00 pm and I'm 50 miles from home. I get a jump from a coworker and that won't start the car. I give up and call a cab for the $150 ride home.

Day 4:

The next morning I get a lift to work. Jump in the brick and it won't start. I get the car towed to the shop. The shop calls back once they get the car and says "The car starts fine!! it puffed a little cloud of smoke from being rich and starts and runs fine!"

ARRRGHHHHHHH!!!!

So I have the shop replace the Radio Suprsesion Relay and I take delivery of the car. I notice that the car has so far started fine but has stopped idling twice in one day. The first time I slowed down to a stop near a stop sign and the car died. The second time I went from park to reverse and it died again.

Can some please help me? I went through the FAQ... but it seems like the car is getting fuel no? Car only has 65K miles on it.

Thanks for any advice!

Jason
