pcv system information 92 960 900

hi
for past few months i am seeing oil around the filler cap and pcv valve and hoses related to pcv system.
my volvo mechanic told me that i need a pcv system clean up and change the breather box.how difficult it is todo this service by myself. will the volvo green manual be of great help or chiltons is ok.

i changed filler cap gasket and pcv valve is ok for few days then the oil shows again.

will a blocked pcv system result in high oil consumption?
