So I'm updating on my '86 240DL which has been having engine problems (thanks for the help so far). After driving it a bit, I can give a better description of what's wrong. I haven't had much time to check on all of the possible causes yet, so I'll just say what I know. The engine idles really rough, right from cold start. There is definitely a cylinder misfiring. However, as the engine warms, it steadily loses power. While cold, it will still pull a bit, but when warm, it's got nothin. Also, there is an airy "tick" which follows engine speed, and is most noticeable on accelleration. Any more guesses? I'll probably have some time this afternoon to work on it. I just wish I had a real garage instead of the college parking lot in the cold. ah well. thanks again
