Wheels for 745 turbo 700 1991

I just bought a 91 745 Turbo with 72000 miles on it. Very happy with the purchase. But... I just put new rubber on it and my mechanic told me all four alloy rims are slightly warped/bent. He balanced them so that it is not noticeable. Do I need to replace them? And if so, what are the advantages of alloy over steel? What should I be willing to pay for either?
Thanks for any advice you might offer.
