Engine dies - when all else fails consider this 700 1988

My 740 Turbo died like someone shut the key off. Replaced the distributor/hall effect, the fender mounted power unit et al as per the FAQ. And it was intermittent to boot. Slam the driver's door, all electronic signals return. Hit a bump in the road, car dies.
My mechanic finally found the problem. Dead short to ground somewhere in the tach/tach harness. Unplug the tach, problem gone. Although I no longer have a working tach, I can live with it...the car's run over 1200km since.

Something to keep in mind.

Cheers,
Andy
