I want to buy some used rear axle's for my 85 245DL so what is the last year model part that will work? 200

Hello Brickers.

I have had a grinding noise in the rear of my 85 wagon since I bought the thing in 2000. I replaced the carrier bearing and the "U" joints last weekend but this only silenced the noise slightly.

After looking through the archived threads I found some information on the rear axle bearings and I think the bearings are my problem.

Don Foster had a great idea to get some used ones from a bone yard. It would be a lot cheaper and quicker to do it this way as long as you inspect the bearing and the race really good to be sure they are ok.

My question is.....What is the last year axle's that will work in my 85 245DL?
