Can a 740 Turbo run w/o the Turbo? 700

I have someone who is willing to GIVE me a nice 740 Turbo sedan that the turbo will need replacing soon on....
It is in Virginia and I am in Colorado.
Here it is:

Can I get this thing home?

He says his mechanice checked the engine and it's great, the turbo just needs replacing soon.

So, if it's free..do you think I can get it all the way home?
