When stepping out of my '89 brick last week, i thought i smelled a slight burning smell. I was sure hoping it wasn't my car, believe me. i popped the hood, looked around, but saw nothing unusual. the smell is a hot engine-type smell, but not an entirely familiar one to me. the area around where the volvo insignia/ exhaust manifold are seems hot (after driving) which seems normal, but i smell a faint burning type of a smell. any ideas? i know the description is pretty vague, sorry! any advice is always much-appreciated.
Also- i had the oil changed recently, and i think they over-filled the car. the manual for the 240 says it takes 4 qts, right? the repair place charged me for 5 qts, and said it took 4.5 to 5. Any thoughts? i think it's overfilled now. would this cause any problems/damage? thanks again!!
