940 wagon hatch problem 900 1994

ive been having problems closing the hatch on my 940 wagon lately, it wont lock closed when i shut it, after 4 or 5 times it does, but that gets annoying. i was thinking about replacing the part where it locks into on the hatch itself, and was wondering if this is a common problem in older wagons, or if someone has experienced this problem and has a fix. thanks
