both turn signals failing 200

Both of my turn signals on my 1990 240 DL don't blink and they make an awful buzzing noise when I try to use them. The buzzing noise sometimes cuts off. {Just in case there's a strange link I don't know about, I'll share that this happened almost immediately after I had my right rear rotor/caliper/pads changed). My hazards, on the other hand, still blink.

**According to the Haynes book, this problem may be due to a blown fuse, a faulty flasher unit, a broken switch or a loose or open connection.

I'm not sure how to check each of these possibilities out individually. I think I'll be able to check whether or not it's a blown fuse. Though,I haven't been able to figure out how to get to the flasher unit (didn't find an illustration either) and I'm not even sure how to properly check the wiring. I'm also nervous about the warning listed about disconnecting things so that the airbag doesn't deploy.

Thanks, in advance, for any tips and advice!

With gratitude,
Valerie
