K-jet and oil trap 200

Hi folks

Wondering if the people in the 200 series forum can help me on this one. I have a B230E (K-jet @ continous injection) in my 740. I was planning to do a R&R of my oil trap - clean it and replace the o'ring. My initial strategy was to take off the intake manifold and the rubber bellow between the TB and airflow sensor for access to the oil breather.

I removed the bellow and had a good look at the area and it looks like my initial plan won't work as the fuel control unit with all its hoses is blocking it. I think I need to remove the fuel control unit as a whole to get a proper access. Problem is Haynes is vague on this and the FAQ isn't much help.

So has any of you succesfully managed to remove their oil trap on their K-jet? What's the steps involved and what's the bare minimum I need to remove? How difficult and how long is the job?

Do I need to replace anything if I do need to remove the fuel control unit?

Thanks so much for any help. This would be my biggest DIY so far on the car and I'd like to get it right first time around.
