Hi,
I have FINALLY enlisted the aid of a helper to test the Idle Air Control Valve in a thourough way.
When I start the engine, it immediately starts climbing the idle slope. Then the helper plugs the hose going into the IAC, and the hole going into the Throttle Body.
This effects a stall, unless I have my foot on the gas a wee little, in which case the TPS micro switch and butter fly make the car idle really well. Better than in the past 1.5 years.
So IAC is determined to be stuck open (or at least staying open).
Is there something other than gunked up IAC that would cause this??
I have tested for the ohms and they seem fine:
pin 1 2 : 21
pin 2 3 : 19
pin 1 3 : 41
Is there some way to see if the IAC is getting the right 'signals'??
again THANKS!
