960 Cam Position Sensor-code 314 ?????? 900

what type of switch is this,can it be taken out and cleaned like an l.e.d. eye or is it a magnetic sw. that must be replaced?it has always taken a little longer to start than the other 960 but has not registered a code in the past.a couple of days ago the check engine light came on and started to intermittently cut out.i've reset the code and it's running and dont want the wife to be stranded in the near future.i've checked the archives and cant find much info on this sensor or replacement of it.thanks dave
