I have my 85' 240 at my mechanic for almost 2 months now. Initialy the car had a problem with the ignition pickup coil in the distributor which was causing cutout/warm stalls but an engine fire due to a faulty FP regulator destroyed some of the wiring harness. I ordered new ignition and injection harness along with a new distributor. I also gave him 2 extra ignition and LH computers as spares. He has changed all the wiring and installed the new distributor however he tells me that for some reason there is no power going to the distributor even though there is power to the ignition coil. And all this with a new ignition wiring harness and 2 spare ignition computers.
Is it possible that the new ignition harness doesn't make a good contact to the ignition computer? Are there any sleeves that I need to install for the Ignition computer pins?
Any suggestions?
BTW I am looking for somebody that does V8 conversions in my area or somebody who is willing to do it. I had plans for a V8 conversion but this "accident" has set me back. I only need to keep the car running for now.
