Stuck rear window defroster switch 700

The switch for the rear window defroster on my 744GL is stuck in the on position. Would this significantly drain the battery if I keep driving like this? Any quick fix, short of getting a new switch?

Wrecked 740's are rare here, would a switch from a 140, 200 or 300 series car fit?
