Hi. At a website (following a link, provided by Alex for information about the temperature compensation board just a few messages below this one), I noticed that it read:
"...For AW70/AW71 transmissions you'll either need Type F or Dexron.... For 1982, 1983, and 1984 model year... you'll want Type F fluid. For 1985-1993..., you'll want Dexron [to] Dexron IV Automatic Transmission Fluid....."
This is WRONG! Having owned an '83 and still owning an '84, I can state with absolute certainty that the changeover was '83 to '84, not '84 to '85. That is, vehicles up to and including '83 take Type F, and vehicles that are '84 and newer require Dexron.
