Anybody else driving Michelin Alpins? 200

I just bought the 244 a couple of months ago and decided to buy the Michelin Alpin snows (four of them) that were on sale at Costco. To tell the truth, I'm not impressed. They're supposed to be a good compromise between snow, ice, slush and dry weather driving, but they don't seem to be really strong in any of those aspects; or maybe I'm just being too fussy, especially since I don't know how good the 244 is with all season tires in the snow. Maybe I should add some weight over the axle? Any comments? Thanks, Fred
