Hello everyone and thanks in advance.

I have a 1991 740 wagon with almost 106,000mi. it is in great condition and I got it 6mo. and 10,000mi. ago. Last week I drove the car 35mi with no problem, then I stop at a stopsign and she drops rpm and stalls. I turned the key to the off position and then restarted with a little tap of the gas pedel, she started right up and was fine in in park and neutral but died in drive (or any other gear). I had to keep it in neutral at all complete stops, raise the rpm to about 2200 to get her to stay running from a complete stop. Once it is cold she drives like normal, until she makes it about 20mi in one trip.
1. The one way check valve going to the braking sys. is good
2. the wires are gettong spark (just changed the cap, rotot and plugs. At the time I didnt know that there was more than one ignition sys. on the na engines so I may be the wrong parts, I just found out that she is a regina- but that was 3000mi ago- I won't factor it out because it has been colder lately)
3. I changed the fuel filter
4. the FPR is good
5. the fuel pump relay under the radio has signs of wear (tarnished copper wire and tarnished copper switch connection), but was working properly.
6. the relay by the passenger front fender is clicking.
7. I changed the fire surpression filter and vac line.
8. I removed the silver valve/sensor under the intake manifold and the valve inside rotates freely which I was told by the dealer is what it is supose to do.
9. the idle goes up when a vac line is disconected and down when reconected
10. the fuel pump turns on, and there is a steady stream before the fpr (some bubbles, I dont know if that is normal or not but I checked the lines and there are no leaks).

Is there a book for the rex/regina car that can help or a good mechanic that can diagnose the problem without burning my wallet in the central Jersey area?
