Hi Rhys,
The compression readings were right around 140. The idle vacuum reading if set where it should (10 degrees before top dead center) is 8-12, fluctuating. If you advance it, you get it to 12-13, fluctuating. My mechanic swears the manifold is good. It sounds like a break in the manifold to some. I suppose the head could have a bubble or such thing break through. What would be the odds of that? I need a 164 "Columbo".
