Can a Dying/Dead Alternator Screw up Air Mass Meter Functioning 200 1989

I believe in Occam's Razor: find the simplest, single explanation for all symptoms. That said, my alternator is dying (< 12 Volts). One week ago, my OBD-I gave normal readings of the fuel system (1-1-1). The car is idling slowly and I'm getting 1-2-1 (AMM) problems. I cleaned the AMM contacts, to no avail.
