gauges on dash 700 1987

I have a 1987 volvo 740 turbo. I noticed recently that my gauges and lights are acting up. I will start the car up and the volt guage is in the red. If i turn the headlights on my hazards come on at the panel but not outside. The same thing with my brights. My brights are not on outside. If I turn the headlights off all gauges read normal except the voltage gauge. once the car heats up everthing is back to normal. I just had the alt. replaced 2 days ago. It is doing the same thing with the new one. Please help.
