I'm having trouble putting in the OD light for my new M46, anyone done this? 200

Things were going well on my conversion. My 89 even had a plug sitting behind the instrument panel waiting for the M46 wiring harness. The OD light wire was missing from the harness though, as well as an OD light on the panel. It was sacrificed for the SRS's light that was non-existant on 89s. Anyhow I decided to use the shift indicator light because it was the only one that had a lug to plug a wire into. I have it all wired up but the light is working the opposite of what it is supposed to. It comes on with the OD off and goes out when it is on.
I finally figured out that the lug on the panel has positive power, and the light is getting grounded through the overdrive relay when the relay is off. I thought the warning lights were + activated. Last time I did this (on a 75 with the Lucas setup and no relay) I am sure I just wired a postive feed to lug for the overdrive light.
Any suggestions on how to fix this? The overdrive relay is set up to send 12+ to a light, but the light wants a ground signal. I am thinking I should have used the SRS light (Where the od light was 80s 240s), but is this set up the same way.
