760 blower motor 700 1990

I just replaced the heater blower motor on my 760. The performance of the new blower (made by Delco) seems anemic compared with the original. I cleaned the face of the evaporator, and I believe all the flappers are working properly. The air volume is equally weak to the dash vents , the floor and the defrost vents. The squirrel cage of the new fan is smaller than the original , and I was wondering if anyone had installed a Siemens unit or a Volvo original unit with better results.
