Brakes making a grinding noise 900 1992

I replaced the front brake pads and rotors on my wife’s 940 last summer. Now, intermittently, there is a grinding noise when the brakes are applied. I inspected them recently - pads and rotors appear fine. What else could cause grinding noise?
