Are my rear brake lights supposed to do this? 200 1986

Hey all; 1986 245 - I run with the headlights on all the time (using the auto-switch-off is so great). When I got to work this morning, I noticed that the taillights (brake and third light) were on after I got out of the car - they stayed on for about 10 secondsand then shut off (about 5 seconds after the interior dome light did.) Is that what is supposed to happen?
