POR-15 question 200

I keep reading good reviews about this product, and have concluded that this must be the right stuff for the rocker panels and rear wheel wells (inside and the edges of the "lip") of my newly aquired 1988 245. By miracle, there is a guy who has just started importing POR-15 products to Norway. What I need now, is some advice regarding what products to buy.

The choice is roughly between a straight six-pack of 4 oz. cans of Gloss Black, or a mixed six-pack of Gloss Black and BlackCote. Is Gloss Black the basic POR-15, and BlackCote a top paint? But if I can cover with all kinds of paint, why do I need the special POR-15 coating? The way I understand it, I can swap the BlackCote for Chassis Coat Black in the mix.

My reasoning so far is to get the six-pack of Gloss Black, and use ordinary car paint as top coat on the wheelwell lip and ordinary flat black paint on the rocker panels. Advice needed, as this stuff is expensive.

Thanks,
Erling.
