So I entered my first all-night driving rally here in Ontario last night and what an adventure it was! After only 55 minutes of some pretty awesome roads, my rear left steel brake line (not hose) sheared completely, leaving me with almost no brakes. A few hours later and lots of failed fix attempts landed me with clamping off the flex hose to that caliper with a vise grips, zip tying the vise grips to the torque rod, and trying to plug the line as best as possible. Well, I got to run the whole third leg of the rally, from 4:46am to 6:59am with only 3 calipers, but it was so worth it. The suspension in the car behaved wonderfully and everything was great minus the brake failure. welp, just thought I'd share my experiences...have a good one all, I need to get some sleep!
