On a cold start the car runs very poorly and it's response to the gas pedal is hesitated. I have taken out the spark plugs and noticed that they are very wet, meaning that fuel is getting there but is not being burned properly. Also, a black smoke comes out of the tailpipe while warming up from a cold start. After ideling for about 4 minutes the car begins to run normally and all of the previously listed symptoms vanish. One morning i made the mistake of not allowing it to warm up and began to drive it. I reversed onto my street, put it in first, began to accelerate only to have it cut out on me and not start again. It would crank and crank and crank but not fire. After about 6-8 minutes, it would start and drive fine. Any help on this one would be great.
Thank you for your time.
