Brickheads, I have had an '85 DL for about three months now. The car is in perfect shape with only 60,000 miles on the clock. I tune into the brickboard everyday and have gotten hooked. I want to keep this vehicle in top shape and need some suggestions on basic stuff like fluid changes. I am thinking of using synthetic oil because it seems to be the cool thing to do. I know Mobil runs the show and Mann filters are the best. Do you think the change to synthetic would be worth it? Is there anything I should look out for or any steps I should take before the switch? What viscosity should I use. The volvo shop that changed the oil last used 20-50. WTF? I live in Florida if that helps. I also want to change the flame trap to the new style that ipd offers. How difficult is this to do? What about transmission fluid. I have an automatic with overdrive. What fluid is recommended? Is there a transmission gasket/filter that needs to be changed? The ipd flush kit looks useful, but should anything else be done? Any help would be appreciated, help another addict out here!
