Choking & Jerking 700 1992

I seem to have an interesting problem; I replaced my timing belt, (carefully checked the belt to be correct on the marks). Put it back together, and the car runs terrible. I noticed afterwards, that the intake hose to the turbo had melted. I replaced it, and the car accelerated fine up to 25, then it would die, belch out black smoke, and jerk. I have checked the belt again, and it is correct. Can anyone, help me please? I thought it might be the Air Mass Sensor, but that didn't help.
