Yellow Peril teardown 140-160 1973

Susan and I started tearing down the engine from the Yellow Peril yesterday.
After pulling the head the question shifted from "Why was it using a quart of
oil every 40 miles through cylinder #2?" to "Why was it not using a lot of oil
through cylinder #3 also???"
I haven't pulled the pistons yet but upon pulling the head we saw pretty
severe damage on both pistons 2 and 3. My theory at this point is that it
perhaps didn't have enough end gap on the top rings and the top rings in
the two middle pistons might have seized in the cylinders and broke both
the rings and the piston above the ring on those two. I have attempted to
post 2 pix - we'll see if they show up. Looks like the brickboard logo
covers the damaged area of one piston.
