Anyone intrested in a how to or rebuild tips on the D24 diesels? Reason I bring this up is I aquired yet another D24T that was in "pristine condition" but after pulling the pan I found a ripped bearing on #1 rod, scored crank and enough carbon guck to supply a pencil maker for life. It was very clear to me the previous rebuilder who in 1994 took alot of shortcuts not to mention poor quality gaskets. Mechanically the engine was sound, fired off on the bench with little trouble and didnt even knock on the bad bearing as it was a light spin that only took the tangs off and wiped the side but nevertheless after spending $450 for a "perfect engine" Im a little pissed off by not only the previous owner but the rebuilder for crappy workmanship.
You guys supply the war stories, I supply the guiena pig motors, cranks, rogues gallery parts and years of experience along with the pictures and tips of what not to do.
Ideas?
