Stalling Problem 200 1981

Hi all, I'm a new member.

I am driving my dad's 1981 240 GL with 163K on the clock while I repair my Saab 900's gearbox. The car starts perfectly normally on a cold start, but once the car has run for about 10 minutes it starts to stutter and stall (and the exhaust smells very rich). If I let the car sit until it cools, I can drive it for another 10 minutes or so. It seems to have gotten worse over the past two weeks, I was able to drive it for over ten minutes, it would stutter for a few minutes, but if I kept the revs up it would pass after a few minutes and the car would act normal indefinitely.
