Hello all!
I've never posted about my car here, but I figure now is a good time. My performance/restoration project is coming to it's final stop. As soon as the remaining bits are stripped off the car and I sand it down, she's going to the painter...to look perfect, hopefully!
Here's what the car will be in about 3 months, most of which is done/purchased already, just waiting for installment:
Interior & Looks:
-Volvo "Cherry red" 1968 144S (basecoat, clearcoat urethane PPG), chrome trim all perfect
-Restored black vinyl interior with black custom carpet, GT cluster, like new dash
-Moto-lita 14" leather wrapped steering wheel, brushed aluminum
-Flush mount front and rear glass (no more leaks, no more expensive rubber seals)
-Retractable front seat belts (in the works)
-New Pioneer headunit with Infinity speakers all around
-All aluminum 15" BBS style wheels (polished aluminum lip)
-Front large circular driving lights (old rally style) with buckets painted to match car, bumper mounted
-Fully sound insulated from front to back
Engine compartment:
-Built B20, Ported & Polished, bored to 2.1L, IPD street cam etc.
-Weber DCOEs, custom 4-2-1 header, (picking up this wkend)
-150+ HP (don't have a dyno or access to one)
Drivetrain:
- 1988 Mustang T5 transmission (5 speed, V8 variant, rebuilt), with tranny adaptor by John Parker
-50% stiffer pressure plate
Suspension:
-IPD lowering coils all around (progressives eventually)
-Koni fully adjustable shocks all around
-New bushings, tie rods
-All newly rebuilt calipers all around
I'm so excited it's almost over. Lots of money and 2 years of work is coming to its' final fruition of my ultimate dream car. Can't wait!!
Thanks to all those who inspired, and all of Brickboard.
