External head gasket leak - Will StopLeak do for a while?

I lent my car to my sister a few days ago, who drove it overheated. I now have a coolant leak at the front right corner of the block. Will some StopLeak hold it until the weather gets better here in New York City? Any recommendations for a good Volvo shop here in New York?
