engine wiring harness 200

Alright my engine wiring harness is very deteriorated and needs replacing, but in playing with the harness and trying to patch it up I have become very curious. The car often stalls while driving, about every 5min., but always starts right back up. I've checked the relays and fuses, many many wires, cleaned the injectors, and confirmed that it is fuel and not spark being cut. Sometimes when it happens i can hear an electrical buzzing from around the ECU/relay area, probably being caused by a short somewhere in the system (but not necessarily there...) What wires in the engine wiring harness (NA '83 LH2.0) are absolutely crutial to keep the car running? I know the white/gree one and the red/yellow ones are because they run the injectors. Which other wires in the harness could potentially cause a car to suddenly stall, w/o stuttering, if they grounded out or shorted?(it's a very clean cut as if i turned off the key). I jumped both the fuel pump and fuel injection relays closed, so they are not the problem. Thanks!
PS- The reason I know it is not spark is because A)- the tach follows the engine down and doesn't jump straight to zero and B)- one time it happened while the car was parked so before jostling the harness and stuff to get it started, I checked spark and it was strong.
