so i picked up that 68 p1800 this morning and while talking to the owner he tells me "Oh no, i drove it 6 months ago, she runs great. Ill even give u a battery so u dont have to buy one." I figure man oh man my lucks just getting better and better...So i tow her home and start to look at engine; oil is a light honey yellow, no sign of water or debris, i go buy some 92 octane gas and aid a little storage additive, i put a little gas mix into the carb bowls; the hoses all look good, i change the fuel filter and add a little clear filter in front of it so i can see when the gas gets there, i charge the battery for 15 mins and get in....so sweet....i notice that 1 of the 2 keys the owner gave me has a stress fracture in it so i, being a smart monkey, think "ah HA! ill use the master key that looks ok"....i put it in and turn to the first stage....lights come on, fan, radio, horn works...toot toot....i reach out for the key....i turn....and.....AARGRGRGRGRGRGRGRGGGGGGGGRGRGRG....IT BREAKS OFF!!!!...i cry....some how i feel this is a rite of passage...i just wish i coulda fired her up 1 flippin time before i joined the club...now the ignition is stuck in the second stage; i assume i have to get it back to first before i can get the key out and i thnk im gonna try to start her with a starter jump....suggestions?
thanks
