Inspecting the foot headlamp switch?? 120-130

I'm pretty sure that I've tracked my headlamp fault down to the foot-operated switch. I've checked the spade connections on the pull switch and on the foot switch (they're fine). So now I'm going insude the foot switch to have a look. But how do I remove the black plastic cover of the foot switch? A polite tug had no effect. Seems there's a small metal screw in the middle, but I don't recognise the size or type.

Could someone advise me on how to proceed further. Thanks a lot.
