The history file on sunroof problems is great but doesn't address my particular problem. The sunroof will retract successfully. When closing, it stops about 1" short of the end (not because of interference with the wind shield). I must manually advance it to the end. At this point, the back drivers side of the sunroof is about 1/2" too low while the driver's side is flush with the roof. When I continue to advance it to open to the ventillation position, it want to open on the rider's side but will not open on the drivers side. No amount of pressure will cause this side to open. This is problematic since it appears from the history file that the sunroof must be in the ventillation position to detach the inner liner to access the mechanism for repair. I can only access the spring which attaches the liner to the sunroof on the rider's side, not the driver's side.
By using a wedge, I can at least jockey things enough that I can make the sunroof flush on all sides, but this renders the roof inoperative. I'm willing to live with this situation since the car is 10 years old but, if there is a relatively easy answer to access the mechanism, I would like to try.
Best regards and thanks in advance,
Ron
