Taillight question 86 Volvo wagon 700

On the tail light assembly there are four lenses/bulbs. The bottom ones are the driving lights/brake lights, next up the yellow turn signal lamp, next up the white reverse light. What activates the ones on the very top (red)? And what needs to be done to turn that bulb on?
