Dashboard starting to crack, what to do? 200

The dash on my 1992 245 wagon is just barely starting to crack. Is there anything I can do to keep it from getting worse. Since I live in North Carolina and the dash is black, it definately gets a lot of sun/heat.

Are dashboard covers any help and if so can you recommend a good one?
