Exterior door handles hard to operate 900 1991

Exterior door handles on my 1991 940 GLE are very difficult to operate. I was able to remove one and lubricated it well, but problem persists, may be in striker mechanism. Unfortunately, I was unable to remove torx bolts for a better look. Before I go much further, can anyone speak from resolution of a similar experience ?
