Upgrade to younger 240?

I have a 1988 244Dl M47 with 165000 miles that I really like a lot. However, I accidently saw a 1990 240 Dl with 99000 miles suposidly owned by a little old lady. Apparently it was her daughter who was selling it. Paint and interior are great. She had the oil changed ever 3k at one of those jiffy lube places little scary! I'm kind of thinking about it, as it does have 65k less miles then mine does and it has a working a/c and has really nice paint job. The unfornitue compromise, is that if I were to buy this car I would probably have to sell mine. I would miss it. It's in great shape, however, it does need to have the hood and trunk lid repainted due to the clear coat, but I had planned on fixing that anyway. MY car has had ams syntheic oil since 75k and had pretty much the up most in maintance done to it. Needless to say I have the up most in confidence in my car.

How does one know what to do? the newer one with working a/c and power window and lower miles and perfect paint is kind of tempting, but would have no way to expect it to be better then mine mechanically. Oh, and the price of the 90 240 is $3900 and it is a one owner car!

Oh...how does a 90 240 compare to a 88 240 in build quality and reliability?
Thank's and Happy bricking.
