Generic substitute for 'Volvo' rack lubricant? 200 1981

Have to replace worn out ZF rack boots in the process all the fluid drained - a very dirty-looking oil. In my Volvo (Green) manuals the instruction says to fill each of the boots with "20 grams (3/4 oz) of lubricant Volvo P/N 1-116-001-1". No doubt my nearest (70 miles) dealer has the stuff at about $20 an oz. - but is there a substitute that will do as well right on the parts store shelf?

Interestingly, IPD's recent catalog's instructions for replacing rack boots make no mention of refilling this lubricant.
